Hi, my name is Yvette Theunissen.
My journey started almost 7 years ago. Not really my writing journey but what led to the point of me telling stories and feeling the need to write them. There are two things in life I’ve always loved, horses and children.
For 4 years I was a assistant teacher/ teacher at a kindergarten. There I saw the impact of what a story can be for a child. From the way their faces light up when something exciting happens to the the way they root for the main character from the start.
After the fourth year I had the amazing opportunity to join a family company on a beautiful farm just outside Parys Freestate South Africa . I was able to follow my dream of working with horses. I breathed in the horses like they were my oxygen from day one. Here is where my mind started running with story ideas. Just imagine being able to ride out on a horse up to the highest point in the valley and look out over it and far off in the distance you can see the small town. How can you not want to write? I experienced alot of adventures with those horses and its something I will forever be thankful for. Hopefully one day they will also be able to be turned into stories.
In 6 years alot of things can happen from meeting the love of your life, to getting married, to meeting life long friends. I am so thankful the ones that led me on the amazing but crazy journey of writng my first book. What a journey it has been.
